Those Precious Preschool Years
For every session I do, I send out a short questionnaire. One of the questions in the questionnaire is “Is there something special about this time in your child’s life that you don’t want to forget?” For this particular session the answer I received was “Just a timeline of the preschool years.”
This really hit home. I have a three and a four year old. Next year our eldest goes to school! And this fast approaching milestone has really made me appreciate and reflect on these preschool years with my own children. Of all the timelines, the preschool years are one of the shortest blocks of time, when you no longer have a baby, but not quite a school aged kid. When cuddles and giggles are plentiful and conversation, often hilarious, begins and never ends. When your kids still think you are the coolest and wants to spend every waking moment with you. The preschool years have been my favourite years so far and as the milestone of school approaches, I want nothing more than to soak it all up, capture it and remember it forever.
So that short response “Just a timeline of the preschool years”, really helped set the scene for a wonderful Saturday morning spent with the Lauritsen/Watkins family and I hope these images will forever act as a reminder of those precious preschool years.
